York is a beautiful compact city placed in the North East of England. It’s one of the most beloved places for tourists to visit in the UK. Inside its medieval city walls, it is very pleasant to walk along the ancient narrow streets, looking at the amazing unique houses of different centuries. The two main sights of York are the magnificent Gothic Cathedral (York Minster) and the old street Shambles with authentic houses of 13-14th centuries. Shambles one of York’s most famous landmarks and one of the best-preserved medieval shopping streets in Europe. It is believed that the unique shape of the houses looming over the cobbled narrow street have been the inspiration for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter movies.
