Bristol is the largest city in the southwest of Great Britain, located on the River Avon just 12 km from Bristol Bay and Atlantic Ocean. One of the most vibrant UK cities with a wonderful seaside atmosphere and many attractions. Bristol was founded in the 1155 next to a old Norman fortress. Bristol quickly developed and became a prosperous seaport. Until the 18th century it was the main English seaport and the third most important city in England (after London and York). Nowadays, Bristol is a famous cultural and tourist city, a major center of aircraft manufacturing and high-tech industries.
